Godzilla (Game Boy) 1990

Godzilla This game is weird As a kid I never even heard of this game as kid I didn't even knew of it's existence until I saw a video by the Angry Video Game Nerd by James Rolfe.

As a guy who started collecting Godzilla in high school I wanted to find that game with it's box and everything but I knew it was too costly and didn't bother for a couple of years.
Now this game is weird for one thing Godzilla doesn't shot his atomic breath no, he shots a boxing glove and the monsters don't even die they simply come back to the screen.  You have to go through 64 levels to save his son.

the designers must love the Bubble bobble game. I don't know why they choose that style, but anyway even though I knew the game sucked I needed it for my collection and for those of you that know about the boxes that hold the games they are often destroyed by both kids and teens so finding one with the box is tough to find and I was lucky on Ebay and now that I finally had the money I could buy one with a box
Bubble Bobble flyer What I got was more then just the box I also got both the Manuel and others items that comes with the box which I was surprised since most of that stuff often doesn't survive  So for all you Godzilla collectors out there find one with the box because It will probably be worth more then game it's self like it is for some toys where the box is worth more then the toy.

Bob Eggleton

Now when it comes to artist in and outside of Godzilla comics Bob Eggleton is the man. Born in During the era when the Comic industry started to explode with new hero's and villains. Spiderman, The Hulk, Fantastic Four just to name a few with many others has brought his love of comic books that gave him the hopes to one day work in the industry. Thinking it would be glamorous as kid as all kids would at the time he worked hard to make that dream.

Bob started to do some drawing when he was 5 back when was often at home sick his father gave him a chalk board to draw on to pass the time which is another spark to starting his love of art.Years later he found out the hard facts in life of what it really means to work on comics putting him in big disappointment, but that didn't put him down on art.

Despite that he enjoyed life to the fullest watching famous monsters movies like Godzilla, The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms.

Other then Classic monsters, he also enjoyed science fiction movies like the 2001 A space odyssey File:2001Style B.jpg and other science fiction films that were going on at the time of his childhood or the 50's classics in fact some of his earliest work were based on Rockets and believe it or not was not happy the way NASA designed it's rockets because they weren't the same as the rocket art work of the 20's and 30's.

The year 1979 was When he was just 18 years old he went to an art convention which was the spark that really got him into the world of art and painting for a career. Bob has said the artist's that inspired him the most was Frederic Edwin Church & John Martin .Frederic Edwin Church - Brady-Handy.jpg On what Bob said was mostly the landscapes for Frederic and the end of the world Style For John and in bobs mind that should work in science fiction art. During that time he asked a man at an art convention what is it that an artist should do for a career and I think it was about covers for books as advice. The Funny thing was that he dropped out of art school cause it just wasn't for him as the teachers said that he had to do a different style that he didn't like so he left. That's not to say that he didn't learn at all, in fact he learned a lot by going to museums reading comic books or maybe even looking at books on how to draw and his dad also helped him.  This book cover was some of his earliest  works as I said before for his love of science. Now you may know some of his more famous work mostly the dragons  and he loves dragons in fact he has made several books about them.  Now let me talk about him in the 90's to what I say really brought him to fame. Now he was always a big fan of the giant monster GODZILLA I don't know how he got involved with Dark horse comics ,but I say he was probably surprised himself that he got to do something Godzilla that wasn't fan art for a change and he did a few of the covers  This one shown here is one of them. after he was done with dark horse he would go on to make cards for the famous card game called Magic: The Gathering from 1995-1997 These are just a few here. During that time in 90's he would be on a role of having the winning the
Hugo Award for Best Professional Artist with his first win in 1994 and has won the title 8 times. Now that is what I call great pride in art.

During his time as the years went by before IDW got the rights Bob would go on to do fan art of all kinds of things with GODZILLA being one of them he would even make his own sketch cards for this whole series of cards that's about Godzilla, according to what he told me he never liked doing advertisement at all because He often had to go with what the company asked for and Bob hated it. when I showed him this card he was surpised with the price tag still on and said

"For $49? Man, I need to do more with the blanks I have!"  I couldn't help but laugh when he said that, but hey that just him and something tells me when he does cards again he's going to add more stuff to it and make less empty.

When IDW got the rights to the monsters Bob would get involved with the comics again this time his art would appear more often, but before I talk about that let me tell you about his favorite magazine
Which was the kind of magazine mothers would not like too see there kids read them, but this was his as I would call his pride in joy and had never been so happy when he would get to draw and write for it and I believe he still works.

Now the series that want to talk about with Godzilla is GODZILLA LEGENDS too me this how he really got involved with IDW series and with the photo's you see below pretty much show it and I think he did a cover for almost every issue in Legends and they are probably worth more then the usual covers.
After that series was done you think he would stop, but nope he's still going and is now doing more covers one of which is comely called the Onging series even though the title doesn't say ongoing.
Well that's all I have to say about Bob and I couldn't put everything down, but I did what I could so Enjoy.

Marvel Godzila

FROM 1977 TO 1979 When Marvel became one of the earliest or first Company to publish a Godzilla a comic that wasn't a Manga.

File:MarvelLogo.svg

This Beast has managed to battle and beat many hero's and even villans like Fantastic Four, and
The Avengers.

The Company either had no intrest in buying the rights of other Toho monsters or just simply couldn't afford it, well it may not matter but one thing is intresting that despite that he would be Responsible for other Charactors in Marvel that would later apper in other marvel comics such as Red Ronin who was created by writer Doug Moench and artist Herb Trimpe.
File:Redroninrobot1.jpg I don't know why they put Devil Dinosaur in theGodzilla series maybe it was because they were trying to get people into it again after the series Failed.Devildino.jpg

Matt Frank

I said I talk about Matt Frank and I asked if it was okay to do a blog about him and he said Yes so here it goes.

We all know those Godzilla comics from IDW the covers for issue number #1 came in more 100 different covers mostly Exclusive and Matt Frank was pretty involved with I believe almost all of them.

But that's not what he orginally started in his career in fact he worked on many other kind of comics like transformers.  this is part of how he got involved with Godzilla but the main reason is that he asked Chris Ryall is Chief Creative Officer and Editor-in-Chief of IDW Publishing (2004–Present) and the love of Matt art work thought that okay let's give this guy a chance and that one of the reasons how he got the job besides being a Fan.

The series came out I didn't even know about Matt Franks existence until the G-fest last Year when I found out about him I thought wow I never thought I meet someone inovled with the comics but I asked if I could buy that Godzilla legends #1 sketck cover, but he said he couldn't sell it to me because it was the last one,  and no this photo is not from the G-fest you see below

anyway I talked to him and soon we became fast friends and talked about Godzilla and other things to past to the time and we still chat and loves items I show in my collection like when I had nearly all the Godzilla kingdom of monsters, gangsters and Goliath's and Godzilla legends he said he was gonna faint which I laugh for reasons I guess because he never seen so many of those comics in one place.

I had an interview of him at the G-fest last year http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5k_sHsKhL84 but a warning if you hear me talk funny it's because I have autism just a warning.

Well I hope you enjoyed this blog.

Godzilla half century war #1 though 2

The issue one Stand out among most godzilla comics is that it seems to be like a remake of the first but put in a comic book and the fact that godzilla has a more mordern look but the Art is often considered the best of every Scale, car, treem and even the wreckage the monster has done. Its a good one.

Issue two is like it based on another Godzilla movie which is the 2nd godzilla movie the Art is even better the first issue and the monster fights are just fantastic the problem I have is that the comic never says how many covers there are.

Godzilla Vs Megalon Comic

You never thought you see a Godzilla comic book with other monsters before IDW well this pretty much shows it, Any way this comic book wasn't made to be in any stores at all infact you could only get this in the Theater. This is considered to be the Rarest American Godzilla Comic out there it's due to the Fact that There wasn't enough for everyone who came to the theater, the ones that were left over were thrown away, and often people would tear it up because of the type of Paper made at the time and that fact its only 4 pages.

So you better keep looking for them because there are not many left in Great shape so start looking.

GODZILLA IDW KINGDOM OF MONSTERS #1

As I go along I will show much more then just comic books from IDW I will tell you guys How I got, how long it and even people who were involed Let me talk about issue #1

I was surpise when this was going to be Released I thought ya so I didn't think it was anything specail but to my surpise IDW got other monsters from Toho which had never happen before I got so Exicted I couldn't wait to start Reading, It was great not the best but great, Before I even knew it there were tons of covers just waiting for me out thier I have all the Covers except the foot ones which I still have a long way to go.

The Story of dealing with monsters attacking citys and causing panick in a more realist manner rather then just showing people running away like in the movies it dosen't say How Godzilla was Born but it does show how he got atomic breath.

Now you may Notice about this cover and say why isn't it up there with the other well I'll tell you the story, according to my Friend Matt Frank who does the Covers told me that it was origanlly suppose to the Eye cover, but Toho wanted it changed to make it more like Godzilla and so this was never Released

I'll Talk about Matt Frank another Time so enjoy the Blog.
